Somaliland’s Deputy President Abdirahman Saylici Backs Wadani Party’s Abdirahman Cirro, Criticizes Muse Bihi’s Leadership

Hargeisa, Somaliland – In a significant political development, Deputy President Abdirahman Saylici held a press conference last night in Hargeisa, standing in full support of the Wadani Party’s presidential candidate, Abdirahman Cirro, ahead of the upcoming election on Wednesday.

During the press conference, Saylici expressed his strong disapproval of the current president, Muse Bihi, accusing him of abandoning his constitutional duties. "Muse Bihi can no longer be trusted in the country. I am closest to what we were sworn in to uphold, while Muse Bihi has departed from that commitment," Saylici stated emphatically.

Having served as vice president for over 14 years, Saylici announced his strategic support for Cirro, signaling a significant setback for the incumbent president. "I am calling on the people of Somaliland to support the ongoing change led by the Nationalist Party and presidential candidate Abdirahman Cirro," he urged.

Moreover, Saylici reiterated his backing for the Barwaqa organization from the Awdal region, which stands in opposition to the Hilaac organization aligned with the ruling Kulmiye party.

In response, candidate Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro welcomed Saylici’s endorsement, urging the community to rally behind the Wadani party and its allies. Irro is garnering substantial support from various sectors, including politicians and business figures, as hopes grow for a successful outcome in the elections scheduled for November 13.
