In
a significant diplomatic move, President Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the
Federal Republic of Somalia, accompanied by a high-level delegation, arrived
today in Berlin, Germany's capital. The visit comes following an official
invitation from German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz.
Upon
arrival, President Mohamud was warmly welcomed by German officials, signaling a
renewed commitment to strengthening the longstanding relationship between
Somalia and Germany. During this visit, the President is set to engage in
crucial discussions with Prime Minister Scholz, focusing on a range of topics
including the revival of traditional handicraft projects, addressing climate
change, enhancing the development of the Somali Police, and exploring the new
mission of the African Union.
Moreover,
President Mohamud is participating in the African-German Investment Conference,
which holds particular significance for Somalia's economic development. The
conference will provide a platform to discuss investment opportunities in
Somalia, especially in light of the country's recent achievements in debt
relief, counter-terrorism efforts, and its accession to the East African
Cooperation Organization over the past two years.

and Germany, building on their historical ties and paving the way for future
collaboration in various sectors. As the President embarks on this important
